My Essential Alaska Travel Resources :
There are a lot of travel companies out there, but some are better than others. These are my favorite websites and resources to help plan an incredible trip to the 49th State. For flights, I recommend using WayAway or Hopper to compare the cheapest dates to travel to Alaska. Car rentals, arguably the best way to see Alaska, are best through Discover Cars! I always use AGODA for hotels. They have an easy-to-use platform where you can compare the best rates. To keep cell phone service if you're traveling internationally, I always use Airalo’s easy to purchase eSIM’s (no installation required). For fun things to do, I recommend Viator to find the best tours in the area, otherwise Klook also does the trick. Just in case, Safetywing is the insurance I always use for travel insurance. Lastly, my Alaska packing list for your travels to the Last Frontier. What to Expect from AK Flow
Flow AK offers a few different options for rafting - they have scenic floats for families (towards the beginning of Sixmile Creek and out towards Turnagain Arm), and whitewater rafting Sixmile Creek for the adventurists. I'll be honest, Sixmile Creek is a tough river, and they even have a 12+ age limit due to the technicality of the canyons and falls. The rafting adventure begins near Hope, with a short bus ride from their store location to the river drop off point. On the rafting trip, you'll go down 3 different canyons - each with a bit of a float break in between. Each canyon gets more technical and difficult as you progress, with the 1st canyon being a Class III and the last canyon being a Class V. Before beginning the trip, they will provide you with shoes, a dry suit, life jacket, helmet, and paddle. Each participant is also required to complete a short swim test in the river - you'll jump in and have to swim to the raft, as well as practice pulling someone into the boat. The entire rafting trip takes about 3 hours and is $200 per person. The guides really look out for you, and were so friendly!

- Half Day 3 Canyon Six Mile Creek My Honest Review
I'll be honest, I only truly recommend this trip if you are really looking for an epic Alaskan adventure - and an adrenaline rush! My husband and I had an incredible time, even though we both fell out and ended the trip a little bruised. (Actually, a lot bruised.) But, we felt 100% safe with Flow AK and they definitely knew what they were doing, we were so thankful that they had prepared us beforehand so well! It was also nice to know that their guides have the most combined experience overall compared to any other companies offering trips down the river! For the price it was incredible, and the canyons were each so beautiful - we were really able to see a side of Alaska that most visitors don't get to see - even on our countless adventures this is the only place we've seen in Alaska with canyons like this. Our guide also mentioned there was a chance of seeing wildlife like bears and moose on the river sides - although we weren't quite lucky enough.
