My Essential Alaska Travel Resources :
There are plenty of travel companies out there, but these are my favorite websites and resources for planning an unforgettable trip to Alaska. This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. For flights, I recommend using Hopper to compare the cheapest dates to travel to Alaska. Car rentals, arguably the best way to see Alaska, are best through Discover Cars! I always use Expedia's easy-to-use platform to compare the best rates. To keep cell service if you're traveling internationally, I use Airalo’s easy to purchase eSIM’s (no installation required), and NordVPN to stay safe while connecting to different wifi. For fun things to do, I recommend Viator or Get Your Guide to find the best tours in the area. Just in case, Safetywing is the insurance I always use for travel insurance. Lastly, my Alaska packing list for your travels to the Last Frontier. The 2025 Schedule of Vanstock Events

When my husband and I first arrived to Vanstock, we were amazed by how many volunteers there were. It showed us how special this community of travelers and nomads were, and how tight of a community they've created. We also noticed this theme throughout the entire weekend, everyone was so kind and welcoming, willing to help out anyone who needed it - and always curious to hear about everyone's stories and travels.
In addition to being a van life and traveler's meetup, the entire weekend was also focused on holistic healing and coming together over various music performances. The venue, Boyd Bison Ranch, was the perfect setting. The lake was so peaceful and quiet, and there were plenty of different areas to enjoy the various seminars, classes, and bands like the private lake, the multiple pavilions, and the sacred village.
With one of their sponsors being Bluetti, each Vanstock attendee was given a free raffle entry, and of course the chance to shop at the craft vendors & indigenous market throughout the entire weekend. With the camper show, vintage car show, and the community mural available - there was plenty of things to do the entire time we were there.
On the more logistical side, there were various kind of entry tickets sold (like day passes vs. all weekend passes) and plenty of space for each camper. With multiple porta potties around the grounds, that wasn't an issue either. They had drinking water available in a large container for campers, and food trucks were open the majority of each day.
